The couple originally met off South Mason Road in Katy, so when Melody scouted out the space, she said it felt like things had come full circle.
"When I saw the location, it just felt like home," she said.
Sunrise Caf opened in late April, and customers can find fresh coffee, breakfast items such as oatmeal, burritos and pot pie all day long. Lunch options range from sandwiches to wraps to salads, but one of the favorites so far is the chicken salad sandwich, which Fanous makes fresh daily.
"Every customer is important, and their sandwiches are always sent out as if they've never been here before," she said.
