From a new local coffee spot to an upcoming doughnut shop, multiple breakfast and coffee businesses have recent updates to share in the New Caney and Porter areas. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Rise & Grind Coffee Co. opened in mid-July at The Food Zone in Porter. Per the Rise & Grind Facebook page, beverages range from $4.50-$6.50, with menu items including flavored iced lattes as well as lemonade and hot chocolate. Pastries such as muffins and cookies are also available.

2. Pat’s Donuts’ newest location in New Caney is expected to be completed by December, a spokesperson for the business confirmed via message July 22. The business sells doughnuts, pastries and breakfast foods—such as tacos, kolaches and croissant sandwiches—according to the company's website. Iced and hot coffee, cappuccinos and other drinks are also available.
3. An estimated opening date has been announced for the Qargo Coffee location that will be opening in Valley Ranch Town Center. Qargo Coffee sells drinks, pastries, breakfast and lunch, according to the company’s website.

Renovations
4. The IHOP in Porter is set to become a dual-brand IHOP/Applebee's restaurant, per an Aug. 4 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The $150,000 renovation project will add 836 square feet of building additions to the existing 4,102-square-foot IHOP restaurant to accommodate an expanded dining area. Construction is expected to begin Aug. 17 and wrap up by Sept. 17, per the filing.
5. The Chick-fil-A location in Valley Ranch Town Center has reopened after renovations were made to the store's drive-thru, a spokesperson for Chick-fil-A confirmed via email July 31. The restaurant closed July 27-28 and reopened July 29. For breakfast, Chick-fil-A serves chicken biscuit sandwiches; yogurt and fruit parfaits; hash browns; breakfast burritos; and hot, iced and frozen coffees, according to the company's website.
