Phase 1 of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Citywide Pedestrian Improvements Project aims to increase pedestrian connectivity by filling sidewalk gaps and adding Americans with Disabilities Act concerns at Alves Lane and Brook Avenue, the Christus Santa Rosa area, Oak Run Parkway, County Line Road and FM 725, according to July 13 City Council agenda documents.
This final design for this project, which began in 2023, was funded by the NBEDC. It will provide construction match funding for the construction of all five segments in Phase 1 of the project, agenda documents state.
Project construction is expected to be $1,744,000. AAMPO has committed 80% of the construction funding for the project, leaving the city responsible for the remaining 20%. The approved $700,000 would include the city’s 20% match of any construction funding, construction contingency and construction administration services, agenda documents state.
