Roadwork to upgrade a water line infrastructure project along Landa Street and Elm Street is slated to be completed ahead of schedule in early May.
The details
On Jan. 13, New Braunfels Utilities began upgrading water line infrastructure as part of the Landa and Elm Street Water Line Improvements Project. Anticipated to be finished in early May, the project was largely completed April 3. The only items remaining for the project are the painting of the fire lane curb and the hydrant flow test, which should be completed the week of May 5, according to Reagan Peña, NBU director of enterprise communications.
Approximately 500 feet of an 8-inch water line was replaced with a 12-inch line along Landa Street from Landa Park Drive to the bridge at Dry Comal Creek. The project was necessary to improve service reliability and ensuring capacity for future demand, according to a news release.
