I-35 turnaround at FM 725 project suspended

The Texas Department of Transportation expects to resume work on the I-35 turnaround at FM 725 in New Braunfels this spring.

Tanya Brown, a spokesperson for TxDOT, said the timeline for completing the project was pushed back due to material acquisition delays.

The backstory

This follows a delay last year due to a change of the retaining wall design and a change in the contractor.

The original completion date was expected to be September 2023. Work is expected to resume in late spring and be completed by summer 2025, according to TxDOT.
