Just two days before the planned closure and demolition of the Conrads Lane/Kohlenberg Road overpass in New Braunfels, officials announced that the project has been delayed by one week.
The demolition is part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s $80 million expansion of I-35 to add lanes to both the main highway and frontage roads in the region.
Demolition of the overpass will now begin at 8 p.m. on Sept. 22 and is expected to conclude on the morning of Sept. 27.
During the demolition, portions of I-35 between Watson Lane and Conrads Lane will be closed to overnight traffic while the roadways are anticipated to remain open during the day.
