Goodwin/Conrads Lane
Project: Goodwin Lane, from FM 306 to Conrads Lane, and Conrads Lane, from Goodwin Lane to I-35, are being reconstructed. Reconstruction includes additional shared pedestrian walkways and drainage improvements to the Alligator Creek Crossing.
Update: Construction along Goodwin Lane, between Aspen Waters and FM 306, began in June, according to city officials.
Timeline: March 2025-late 2026
Cost: $24,227,789
Funding sources: 2019 city bond (Proposition 1) and roadway impact fees
San Antonio Street/South Water Lane
Project: Construction will replace underground water and wastewater lines, followed by road construction. This project is a joint bid with New Braunfels Utilities, according to an email from city officials.
Update: Construction is underway and the left lane of the road is blocked off. Drivers can still access the right side of the street.
Timeline: March 2-late spring 2027
Cost: $4 million
Funding source: 2023 city bond (Proposition A)
South Kowald Lane
Project: A center lane will be added to the existing two-lane road. Turn signals will also be added at I-35, Sophie Lane and FM 1101 near Freiheit Elementary School.
Update: Design is underway.
Timeline: Construction is expected to begin mid-2028, according to a June capital projects update presentation.
Cost: $10,739,000
Funding source: 2023 city bond (Proposition A)
