Texas Mutual health affiliate Texicare, is partnering with CHRISTUS Health to expand its coverage in San Antonio.
The overview
Texicare added 96 providers and 29 clinics from CHRISTUS Health to its network in Bexar and Comal counties on Aug. 15, according to a news release. The partnership with CHRISTUS Health will help Texicare customers access more options for care that include:
- primary care
- emergency services
- cardiology
- orthopedics
- neuroscience
- pediatrics
- women’s health
What to expect
Texicare members have three plan options to access CHRISTUS providers, which includes TotalCare, SimpliticityCare and SavingsCare.
TotalCare plans include four $0 visits to multiple provider types, including primary care, specialists, urgent care, physical therapy and mental health. SimplicityCare plans feature straightforward copays and no deductibles. SavingsCare plans combine the opportunity for lower monthly premiums with a Health Savings Account option for managing health care costs tax-free, according to the release.

Chris Glenney, senior vice president and chief operating officer for US Ministries at CHRISTUS Health, said he hopes this partnership will help employees in San Antonio receive better care.
