New Braunfels Mayor Rusty Brockman joined mayors from around the nation in the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation, a competition throughout April that asks residents in participating communities to conserve water resources to see what city will be named the most “water wise.”
Residents who choose to participate can register online at www.mywaterpledge.com. Cities with the highest percentage of residents participating will win in their respective population category, according to the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation’s website.
Participants in winning cities enter a raffle to win hundreds of prizes, and in 2021 more than $50,000 in prizes was awarded to nearly 300 residents in U.S. cities.
Participants can also nominate local nonprofit organizations in their communities to win a 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.
