Two New Braunfels residents, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 90s, died on Aug. 6 and 20, respectively, in connection with COVID-19, according to an Aug. 21 press release from Comal County. The deaths brought the county’s total to 80.
As of Aug. 24, 2,865 positive or probable cases of the new coronavirus have been recorded since March 16. Between Aug. 17-24, 233 new cases of COVID-19 were reported.
The county’s positivity rate as of Aug. 24 is 15.59%, down from 15.67% on Aug. 21, according to a press release.
Comal County also reported three more recoveries, bringing the total to 2,266. The county now has 519 active confirmed and probable cases, 74 of which are hospitalizations.
