2Tarts to celebrate 15 years in downtown New Braunfels

2Tarts, a family-owned, full-service retail bakery, is celebrating its 15-year anniversary in downtown New Braunfels at 139 N. Castell Ave., in July.

The details

The bakery is co-owned by sister duo Ashley Landerman and April Ryan. 2Tarts sells cupcakes, cookies, pie by the slice, cakes and coffee. Ryan said they do not have plans to open a second location, and are dedicated to staying in downtown New Braunfels.

“We feel like downtown is our home, and we still have capacity here to grow,” Ryan said.

Ryan said they will continue to expand their gluten-free offerings to make the 2Tarts menu more inclusive to people with different dietary restrictions in the community.

Digging deeper

Ryan said they did not expect to become a pillar in the community when opening in 2010.

“Our highest sales day the first two years was on our opening day, so there was a few years there where, as the town was growing, we grew with it,” she said.

Quote of note

Ryan said they were grateful for the support they have received from the community.

“We’re just two scrappy girls trying to introduce a concept that had never really existed in New Braunfels when we started. We couldn’t do it without our regulars, so we appreciate them deeply,” Ryan said.

One more thing

As a two-time Food Network Champion, Landerman gets scouted for other opportunities, Ryan said.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her on another food contest show sooner than later,” she told Community Impact.
