The North Texas Municipal Water District will conduct its annual chlorine maintenance Feb. 26 through March 26. The annual maintenance helps optimize the quality of drinking water for NTMWD member cities, including Frisco, Plano and McKinney. During maintenance, tap water will remain safe to consume, although some residents may notice a stronger chlorine smell or taste. Residents may also notice some fire hydrants being opened to flush the lines. This helps push the chlorine through the system faster, according to NTMWD.
