The McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted Aug. 25 to rezone 11.47 acres to allow for the redevelopment of the Wysong Hospital campus, or the building housing Medical City Behavioral Health, and the surrounding area.
The property is currently zoned for planned development and would be zoned for commercial.
The existing hospital building and area around it is under contract to be sold to an owner who plans to redevelop the property with commercial uses, according to meeting documents.
There are no firm development plans for this area, said Matt Moore with Claymoore Engineering on behalf of the applicant. The intention was to clean the zoning up in case anything does move forward.
