Feltus, Philips win McKinney City Council District 3, At-Large Place 1 seats

Incumbent Charlie Philips has won his bid for re-election to the McKinney City Council, and newcomer Dr. Gere' Feltus has won the District 3 seat.

Feltus received 2,888 votes, or 51.8%, to her opponent, Vicente Torres, who has received 48.2%.

Feltus works as a physician, has experience serving on the McKinney Economic Development Corp.’s board of directors and is a graduate of Leadership McKinney. Torres is an administrator for the computer science department at The University of Texas at Dallas and has experience serving on the university’s staff council.

In the race for the At-Large Place 1 seat, Philips received 11,408% of the votes, or 60.1%. His opponent, Brian J. Magnuson, collected 39.9%.

Philips works as an attorney and has served on multiple local boards. He is seeking another three-year term. Magnuson works as an art educator and has served in the United States Army Reserves and in the National Guard infantry.
