Freezing temperatures are hitting the Dallas-Fort Worth area as McKinney ISD students return from winter break, creating the chance for possible closures.
What you need to know
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch starting Jan. 8 through Jan. 10 with chances of slow and sleet. Snow is most likely to fall Jan. 9, according to the service.
The district's SchoolMessenger system will be used in the event of a delay or school closure. Information will also be posted on MISD's Facebook page, X page and on the district’s website homepage.
