1. Bruster’s Real Ice Cream dishes out cold treats in northeast Fort Worth
A Pennsylvania ice cream store is now open in the Alliance area of Fort Worth.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream serves at least 24 different flavors of ice cream, varying by location. The store sells ice cream by the scoop, pints, ice cream cakes, pies, sundaes, blasts and shakes, according to its website.
Ice cream flavors include chocolate cherry chunk, Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye, coconut cream pie, Cotton Candy Explosion, Gooey Butter Cake, Graham Central Station, mocha almond fudge, New York cheesecake, pineapple upside down cake, sea salt caramel with toffee, southern banana pudding, strawberries and cream, and cookies and cream with Oreo.
The Brunch District opened its newest location in Frisco, a company representative confirmed.
The menu includes Southern and Tex-Mex breakfast classics like steak and eggs, loaded grits and migas, as well as lunch options like sandwiches and salads.
Frisco is The Brunch District’s fourth location alongside restaurants in Colleyville, McKinney and Addison.
A third Whataburger in north Fort Worth is now serving burgers and more.
The Texas burger chain is the first business to open in a new shopping center owned by Segovia Partners. The restaurant—which features a drive-thru, dining room and online ordering options—sells burgers, chicken sandwiches, taquitos, salads and more.
According to previous reporting, a dentist's office and Mi ChanTe Mexican Cuisine are also coming to the shopping center.
The renovations for Whataburger had an estimated cost of $1.18 million, according to a state filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
4. Truck Yard set to open in Richardson this summer
Truck Yard is set to open in Richardson this summer, according to the company’s website.
The bar and beer garden will feature rotating food trucks, live music and an on-site kitchen. Truck Yard is taking over a property formerly occupied by Old 75 Beer Garden, which closed in 2024.
A new coffee shop called Joda Coffee is under construction in McKinney, owner Sam Alaqel said.
Joda Coffee will serve Yemeni coffee drinks and refreshers, Alaqel said. The shop is opening in a 2,986-square-foot space along Ridgeline Drive, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Alaqel said they hope to complete construction over the summer and open later this year.
A new Chipotle Mexican Grill will be constructed from the ground up starting this fall.
The fast-casual Mexican chain restaurant will be brand new and built from the ground up, according to the filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The new structure will be 2,385 square feet and cost $1.8 million, the filing states. Construction is expected to begin Sept. 28 and finish May 24, 2027.
Chipotle offers burritos, bowls, salads, quesadillas, tacos, chips and sides with a variety of customizable options.
7. Sourdough Bread Deli offers fresh sandwiches, baked goods in Plano
Plano sandwich shop Sourdough Bread Deli offers a homemade menu that uses fresh ingredients from its bread to its meats.
Sourdough Bread Deli owner Veronika Prishutov-Wells said she and her teammate, Sviatlana Filistovich, take roughly two hours each morning to bake the restaurant’s bread from scratch.
Prishutov-Wells said the store uses fresh meats and vegetables, which are cut daily. Customers can order a lunch box that comes with chips, a cookie and a pickle.
