Playa Bowls now offering smoothies, juices in Allen
Playa Bowls celebrated the grand opening of its Allen location mid-April, franchise owner David Butler said. The business sells smoothie bowls, smoothies, juices and cold brew, according to its website. Playa Bowls also has a location in Southlake and a location coming soon to McKinney.
Cristina’s offers fine Mexican dining at first Keller locationThe restaurant celebrated its grand opening with a live mariachi band at the end of April and offers Tex-Mex cuisine such as tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, specialty margaritas and a brunch menu featuring items such as breakfast tacos. Cristina Vargas, the daughter of founder Arturo Vargas and the inspiration behind the restaurant’s name, said her family is excited to bring the concept to Keller. This marks Cristina’s first freestanding location.
Sheesh Kitchen serves Mediterranean fare in FriscoThe Mediterranean restaurant serves wraps and bowls featuring beef and chicken shawarma, gyro, falafel and more, the website states. A variety of dips, including hummus, tzatziki, spicy hummus and baba ganoush—which is a dip featuring smoked eggplant and tahini—are available.
Odd Muse Craft & Kitchen serves lagers, bar fare in downtown PlanoThe Plano taproom serves Odd Muse beers, including lagers, pilsners, stouts, IPAs and more. In addition to 23 rotating taps of beer, Odd Muse Craft & Kitchen offers classic bar fare, such as wings, hand-cut fries and burgers, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
Ciao Sweets and Gelato now open in RichardsonCiao Sweets and Gelato is now open in Richardson. The European-style pastry shop offers a range of desserts, including cannolis, tarts, macarons, cheesecake and gelato, as well as crepes, waffles and coffee.
Madras Mojo offers South Indian cuisine in McKinneyMadras Mojo began a soft opening in McKinney in early April, a company social media post stated. The restaurant offers “express Indian cuisine,” according to its website. The menu includes customizable bowls with vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees such as butter paneer masala, street-style pepper chicken, chicken tikka and Madras chicken curry. Other offerings include Indian crepes and rice noodle dishes.
