Check out some hotel projects that planned or underway, and are set to offer overnight stays in McKinney. This list is not comprehensive.
1. Denizen McKinney
Project: The Denizen McKinney is a four-story hotel with high-end design and amenities. The boutique hotel is located in the District 121 development in south McKinney.
Update: An official opening date has not been determined yet but the hotel could open as soon as November, said Michael Mueller, Managing Director of hotel development firm Archstreet McKinney.

2. La Quinta-Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham
Project: The prototype hotel will feature about 100 rooms with a mix of La Quinta guest rooms and Hawthorn Extended Stay guest rooms, said Jesse Verghese, a hotel developer and consultant with Trinity Group Inc., the company developing the project. The four-story hotel, which will be located adjacent to McKinney ISD Stadium, will feature a bar in the lobby and offer breakfast daily, Verghese said.
Update: Verghese said the permitting process is underway for the $15 million project, which could begin construction as soon as December or January. The hotel is expected to be completed 16 months after breaking ground, he said, setting the project for a 2026 opening.
3. Residence Inn by Marriott
Project: The extended-stay hotel will feature a mix of studio-style rooms and one-bedroom suites, with each room including a full-size refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave and other kitchen elements, said Kris Magan, CEO of Krisnik Management and Development Inc. Amenities that will be offered at the hotel include an outdoor pool, a combination pickleball and basketball court and a bar in the lobby.
Update: The project is still in development and has not yet broken ground, Magan said.
4. Tru by Hilton
Project: The “family-oriented” hotel concept is four stories tall and about 40,000 square feet, owner Bobby Singh said. The hotel will also include a pool, a gaming area with a pool table, a business center, a boardroom, a sundries shop and more.
Update: The hotel is set to open in November but is not accepting reservations, according to its website.
