A new 24,000 square foot office and retail building is expected to open August 2018.[/caption]
The proposed building, located at 205 W. Louisiana St., will be approximately 24,000 square feet and home to retail and office space, a hotel and a parking garage. The site is currently vacant, and the western half serves as a gravel parking lot.
At the meeting, applicant and former City Council member Don Day asked for a site inspection to allow driveway access off Louisiana Street as opposed to Church Street.
Day said at the entrance off Church, the garage floor will be 10 feet below street level and would require a 130-foot-long ramp. With a driveway at the proposed northeast corner of the building off Louisiana, the garage floor will be 4 feet below street level requiring a 60-foot ramp.
