Here are four things happening in McKinney this week:
‘Snapshot’
This exhibit will showcase a collection of photographs taken by aspiring photographers at Youth Stop Inc. Attendees should expect the unexpected and celebrate the effort, Executive Director of Youth Stop Inc. said in a statement. The exhibit will run from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Sunday at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, 111 N. Tennessee St. More information can be found on the city of McKinney’s website.
City Council meeting
McKinney City Council will host its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Council Chambers, 222 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. At the meeting, the council is expected to establish a speed limit on Lake Forest Drive between Wilmeth and Bloomdale roads and hire an architect for a new municipal complex in McKinney. Scholastic book fair
This book fair is open to the public and will offer a large selection of books for kids of all ages at a discount. The event runs from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday at the McKinney Community Center, 2001 S. Central Expressway. For more information, call 972-547-2690.
