Rolling Cigars’ new permanent East McKinney location is now open.
The business, owned by McKinney resident Ron Stevens, began as a mobile humidor business, available for private events such as weddings and corporate functions, as well as public events such as festivals.
“I had just always been in a position where I have been at a festival or a fair ... I really enjoy cigars, and many times I wouldn't have one or I would forget one, and just wonder why I can get pizza, I can get tacos, I can get lobster, but nobody ever sold cigars at events out of a food truck,” he said.
Stevens plans to continue operating the mobile trailer but said he considers the new space a “central location” for the business. The shop is located in a renovated grain silo on the Tupps Brewery property as part of the brewery’s Build-Your-Own-Business program. Stevens had previously operated his mobile trailer at the brewery during events, but said he was eager to learn more from Tupps Brewery Founder Keith Lewis through the program.
