Lousiana-based Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers broke ground on its first Tomball location June 26 at 27691 Business 249, Tomball, restaurant officials announced in a June 26 news release. The restaurant is slated to open in late October. Raising Cane's will hire 75 employees at its new location, according to the release. The restaurant's signature menu includes 100% premium white meat hand-battered chicken fingers, Cane's sauce, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, sweet tea and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

The Tomball location will be the restaurant's 156th site in Texas, according to the release. www.raisingcanes.com

A total closure of eastbound and westbound lanes of FM 1488 between Ravenswood Drive and Buddy Riley Boulevard in Magnolia is scheduled for Jan. 25-26, according to the Houston TranStar database . The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 25-26. Drivers can detour using FM 1774 and FM 149.
