Wholesome Pies, located at 250 Assay St., Ste. 100-B, Houston, hosts a soft opening May 7 in Redemption Square in the Generation Park community. The pizza eatery, along with its neighboring concept, Wholesome Kitchen & Bar, are the brainchild of Houston restaurateur Michael Collins. The restaurant focuses on using high-quality ingredients to create Neapolitan-style pizzas in a wood-fired oven. It also serves beer and wine. The grand opening for both Wholesome Pies and Wholesome Kitchen & Bar will likely be late-May or early-June. 832-448-6230. www.wholesometx.com
