Blackerby Violin Shop will open a new location July 30 at 3401 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin. Like Blackerby's original location at 1111 W. Anderson Lane, the new shop plans to sell stringed instruments, sheet music, bows and accessories as well as offer instrument rental, repair and maintenance. However, the new location will strictly operate as a rental service until a grand opening this fall, when the full range of sales and services will become available. 512-284-8879.
