On the corner of South Guadalupe Street and East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, a new 3,415-square-foot restaurant called Industry, alongside Hops & Grain, is set to open later this summer in San Marcos.

Restaurant consultant Harlan Scott and Cafe Josie owner Cody Taylor, a Texas State University alumnus, have partnered to open Industry at 110 E. MLK Drive, San Marcos, next to Hops & Grain, an Austin-based microbrewery.

Calling it a “counter service hybrid concept” open for lunch, dinner and late night, the restaurant’s menu will center around a Texas Live Oak smoker featuring salads, brisket, sandwiches, sides, tacos and burgers. Industry will also serve draft cocktails, beer and wine.

Cafe Josie chef Todd Havers, who is also involved with the new restaurant, said customers should also expect to see some unique menu items, such as smoked cocktails, smoked ice cream or smoked ketchup.

Industry will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. It will have a wraparound patio and offer live music Thursdays through Saturdays. It will also have mobile ordering systems so patrons do not have to leave their seats to order.
