Austin-based commercial real estate firm Sabot Development closed Feb. 7 on the acquisition of 9.63 acres of land adjacent to Capital Metro's Lakeline MetroRail Station off Lakeline Boulevard.

Sabot does not yet have any concrete plans for the land, but the company is meeting with stakeholders, engineers and architects to find the best use for the space, Sabot President Jim Young said. However, he said the new development will be mixed-use and likely include multifamily units and retail.

The land is located within the Lakeline transit-oriented development area. The TOD designation will allow Sabot to have reduced parking because of its proximity to transit and building heights up to 120 feet, according to Sabot.
