Starting with the 2018-19 school year, all secondary campuses in Lewisville ISD will have school resource officers. At Monday's board of trustees meeting, members voted to expand the SRO program in order to maintain a safe, orderly and secure environment for learning. The number of SROs currently provided by each municipality is: •Flower Mound-6 •Lewisville-6 •Carrollton-2 •The Colony-2 •Highland Village-1 The number of additional SROs are anticipated to be: •Flower Mound-3 SROs and 1 sergeant •Lewisville-3 SROs and 1 sergeant •Carrollton-2 SROs plus possible ancillary costs or supervisor •The Colony-1 SRO It is anticipated the annual expense for SROs will be $1.69 million. For the 2017-18 school year, annual expenses totaled $947,299 and $888,348 in the 2016-17 school year.
