As construction work continues on Loop 360, Texas Department of Transportation officials are sharing tips for drivers navigating altered traffic patterns.

The Westlake Drive and Cedar Street project is underway, with all other projects still in pre-construction phases.
The $72.1 million project is fully funded by TxDOT and the City of Austin’s 2016 Mobility Bond. Construction is estimated to be complete in mid-2026, according to a TxDOT information sheet.

The Westlake Drive Loop 360 crossover is currently closed for excavation work and bridge construction. Loop 360 mainlines remain open.
Drivers heading west on Westlake Drive will need to detour to Cedar Street and make a U-turn to get across Loop 360. Drivers heading east will need to detour to a signal installed near the Shell station at 3310 N Capital of Texas Hwy. and make a U-turn.
Currently, sidewalk construction is also taking place along Loop 360, according to a news release by TxDOT. Drivers are advised to watch for barriers and follow traffic signage.

Drivers looking to park near the Pennybacker Bridge boat ramp, located about 1 mile north of Cedar Street, should avoid parking on sidewalks, medians and construction zones, according to TxDOT’s news release.
Parking at the boat ramp is limited and visitors are advised to plan ahead in order to ensure safety and accessibility for drivers, pedestrians, and construction crews.
