Big decisions made in 2011

• Water hydraulic model — The city updated the water hydraulic model of the city's water system that is more than 50 years old to identify needs for water rehabilitation projects with an emphasis on fire flow and fire protection.
• Street maintenance projects — The city initiated a phased approach on street repaving/maintenance projects using the city's street maintenance sales tax.
• Park improvement project — The city completed the last park improvement project, the final section of the city's one-mile walking trail, which finished the park master plan first drafted in 1995.
• City Hall remodeling — Rollingwood remodeled a portion of City Hall to provide Americans with Disabilities Act–compliant restrooms, and office and heating, ventilation as well as air-conditioning-system upgrades.

Top issues for 2012

• Rollingwood wastewater system — The city is looking to address the best arrangement for the long-term ownership, operations, and financing of the Rollingwood wastewater system.
• Bee Caves Road improvements — City leadership plans on recommencing the planning, right of way acquisition and funding allocation for Phase 2 improvements to Bee Caves Road from Eanes/Dry Creek to the western city limits at Rollingwood Drive and Old Walsh Tarlton Road.
• Support Rollingwood business community — The city will take a proactive role by working with area chambers of commerce and economic development leaders to support the Rollingwood business community, especially in the build-out of the Endeavor project, the last significant undeveloped property, which is 18 acres, in the otherwise built out one-square-mile city.
• Fiscal conservatism — While anticipating gradual improvement in the city's local, regional economy, city leadership will continue to address quality-of-life and infrastructure issues on a fiscally conservative basis in the new year.
