Parade of Champions to be held Jan. 7 at Hill Country Galleria

To celebrate the successes of Lake Travis High School students during 2011, Lake Travis ISD, the City of Bee Cave and the Hill Country Galleria are holding a Parade of Champions Jan. 7 at 5 p.m.

The parade will take place at the Hill Country Galleria, kicking off with live music by The Loose Wheels at 2 p.m. in the Hill Country Galleria amphitheater, 12700 Hill Country Blvd. in Bee Cave. At 5 p.m., the parade will begin near Dillard's and make its way across the Galleria to end near Zinger's Bar & Grill.

The parade will celebrate Lake Travis High School's fifth state championship in football, two-time state championship for the Lady Cavs volleyball team, 2011 state champion boys golf team, 2011 state runner-up girls golf team, 2011 state-runner up tennis team, 2011 state finalist Mighty Cavalier Marching Band and 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program honorees.

A fireworks display will follow an award ceremony for the high school students.

Lake Travis championship merchandise will be sold at a kiosk near the amphitheater.

Visitors are being asked to park in the Galleria parking garages—the main street of the Galleria will be blocked off for the parade.
