Oakley returns as Lakeway finance director

Julie Oakley, who served as the city's finance director for three years, returned to the position effective Sept. 9. Oakley worked for the city from 2010 until April 2013 when she resigned to take a job closer to her home in Spicewood.

"I am looking forward to returning to work with the top notch management and City Council at Lakeway," she said in a statement. "It is a great place to work and I couldn't be happier."

Oakley has also received four consecutive Leadership Circle Gold Awards from the Texas Comptroller's Office.

"I believe the Mrs. Oakley is among the best, if not the best, municipal financial directors in the business," Lakeway Mayor Dave DeOme said in a statement. "She is a great people person and doesn't make mistakes. I welcome her back with great enthusiasm and expect great things from the Lakeway Finance Department in the future."

The position had remained vacant between Oakley's tenure.
