Despite previous delays due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Lake Travis ISD is continuing progress in its search for a new superintendent.
Trustees will meet for a special called in-person meeting May 13 to review and discuss potential candidates for the position. The meeting will be conducted in a closed session and will not be available to the public.
According to Marco Alvarado, the district's director of communications, the board is not expected to reconvene in an open session.
After more than eight years serving the district, Superintendent Brad Lancaster is set to retire this summer. Prior to the coronavirus outbreak, Lancaster's final day was scheduled for July 1. He has since confirmed in a virtual broadcast to the community April 14 that he will continue in his position an extra month if needed.
