On Oct. 2, Madrone Coffee Co. opened in the former Austin Pizza Garden location near the Y at Oak Hill.
The coffee shop’s menu includes drip coffee, tea drinks and espresso drinks, such an espresso cortado with steamed milk and cafe Americano. Austin Pizza Garden closed Jan. 17, 2021, after 27 years in the community. The restaurant, and now coffee shop, operated in a stone building dating to 1898. The building has also served as a steakhouse, a masonic lodge and an art gallery.
