Construction on Lake Travis ISD’s seventh elementary school, Rough Hollow Elementary School, is nearly complete, and the campus is scheduled to open Aug. 19, the first day of the 2020-21 school year.
In light of challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is unclear how or if students will return to campus this fall, but barring any changes, Rough Hollow Elementary will be ready for their arrival.
The district broke ground on the 102,000-square-foot, $33 million campus on Bee Creek Road in April 2019. Funding was approved through LTISD’s $253 million 2018 bond program, which was the district’s largest bond issue to date.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the project did not experience any construction delays, as LTISD Communications Director Marco Alvarado previously told Community Impact Newspaper.
