METRO seeks feedback on second stop for Humble Community Connector

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking feedback from Humble residents and commuters before the authority launches a Community Connector.

The Community Connector will allow riders to reserve a ride to be picked up at their door or any location in the service zone. Then it will take riders anywhere in the zone for a base fare of $1.25 from 5 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the METRO proposal.

Additionally, the service will have two bus stops where riders can walk up to board. While one stop will be the Townsen Park and Ride, METRO Public Information Officer Monica Russo said the authority is seeking feedback to determine the second stop.

Stop options include Walmart or Kroger off FM 1960, Humble City Hall, the Humble Post Office or the Humble Civic Center.

“Community engagement is very important to us because ... no one knows a community better than the people who live in it,” she said. “We truly want to listen to residents and understand what their needs are before we move forward.”

The survey was distributed to residents via local water bills in early February, Russo said. A start date for service has not yet been decided.
