1. Woodland Hills Drive intersection improvements
Design for a Harris County Precinct 4 project to install a traffic signal and pedestrian ramp accommodations at the intersection of Woodland Hills Drive and Liles Lane is complete. Construction will soon begin and take roughly 45 days to complete.

2. Loop 494 expansion
The Texas Department of Transportation will soon reconstruct Loop 494 between Sorters McClellan Road and Northpark Plaza from a two- to four-lane road and add a raised turf median and center-turn lanes at intersections and sidewalks. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during construction.

3. Northpark Drive intersection improvements
The Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 10 will soon wrap up a project to improve the intersection of Northpark Drive and West Lake Houston Parkway, which includes adding turn lanes and upgrading traffic signals. Contractors are waiting on the delivery of a mast-arm traffic signal, which is anticipated to be delivered in early May.

4. Ford Road expansion
Montgomery County Precinct 4 continues to prepare for a project to expand Ford Road in the Porter area between Hwy. 59 and West Lake Houston Parkway. The project’s preliminary engineering was recently completed and cost roughly $164,735. The project will expand the two-lane road between Hwy. 59 and Loop 494 by 10 feet to add wider shoulders for vehicles, while the road between Loop 494 and West Lake Houston Parkway will be expanded from two to four lanes.

5. Wilson Road expansion
A Harris County Precinct 4 project to expand Wilson Road from a two- to four-lane road between just north of Beltway 8 and Atascocita Road continues. The road was reopened for traffic April 1, although the project is waiting on the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Wilson Road and Greens Road, which should be operational by June. Contracting company SER Construction finished the project ahead of schedule, as the original contract completion date was set at Oct. 29.
