On Wednesday, 30 athletes from Humble ISD committed to playing college athletics on National Signing Day—the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent. The class includes 14 football scholarships, headlined by Atascocita offensive lineman Samuel Cosmi, who will attend the University of Texas and quarterback Daveon Boyd, who will attend Blinn College. The 2017 recruits featured athletes from softball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, cross country, swimming and track and field. Fifteen of the athletes elected to remain in Texas and three will play sports in Houston—Humble football player Terio Brown will attend Texas Southern while Atascocita soccer player Jazmin Grant and track and field athlete Brianna Nolen enroll at the University of Houston.
