Tim Hortons officials said the franchise has plans to hold its grand opening for the new Cypress location Aug. 28. Tim Hortons offers a variety of drinks including protein lattes, iced coffee and bagels and is famous for its doughnuts and coffee, per the website.
Humble ISD's rebuilt Foster Elementary School set to open in August
Humble ISD’s rebuilt Foster Elementary School is set to open to students Aug. 12 for the first day of the 2026-27 school year, according to the campus's website.
The roughly $44 million, 122,000-square-foot campus—which is located in close proximity to the old campus—is part of a $775 million bond package approved by voters in May 2022.
PREVIEW: Klein ISD board of trustees to call November election
The Klein ISD board of trustees will discuss calling a Nov. 3 election for two of the seven seats on the dais that are approaching their term’s end during the Aug. 10 regular meeting.
Trustees hold their positions for three years with the terms for positions 1 and 2 set to expire in 2026. The seats are currently held by trustees Dustin Qualls and Doug James, respectively.

Emergency service providers adapt to keep up with growth
Emergency service departments serving the New Caney and Porter areas have either recently built or are considering building additional fire stations to keep up with rapid growth in the area. Howard Rinewalt—chief of the East Montgomery County Fire Department, which covers roughly 144 square miles, including New Caney and Roman Forest—said the biggest challenge his department has faced has been staying ahead of growing call volumes.

The future of downtown Tomball takes shape
