The opening of an Amazon delivery station that was scheduled to debut in Porter in 2021 has been delayed until further notice, Amazon officials confirmed Feb. 1.
The facility, which is already largely built, is located near the intersection of Hwy. 59 and the Grand Parkway in Porter. According to Amazon spokesperson Daniel Martin, the facility will still open at a later date, although he said the exact timing remains unclear.
“We still plan to launch a new facility in Porter ... providing many great jobs to the area,” Martin said in an emailed statement. “The only thing that’s changed with our plans is the exact timing.”
Martin noted that it is not uncommon for the company to adjust the opening dates of new facilities.
