A multimillion dollar project to renovate Lake Highlands Trail and connect it with the White Rock Creek Trail received increased funding to address additional improvements.
The funding is allocated for updates to the trail’s intersection with the DART Walnut Hill Station, additional drainage structures to keep the trail from flooding, handrails for added safety, and fencing along Skillman Street for residential privacy and safety.
The cost
During its Oct. 11 meeting, Dallas City Council increased the project’s construction contract from about $4.4 million to $4.8 million, adding nearly $400,000 to the project. The contract is with RoeschCo Construction, a Frisco-based general contracting firm.
