Tarrant County approves countywide vote centers, free ride services ahead of March 3 primary

Voters in Tarrant County have an increasing number of options in order to exercise their right to vote.

Ahead of the March 3 primary election, Tarrant County Commissioners Court in January approved countywide voting centers as well as a partnership with transportation services to provide free trips to voting locations.

“With vote centers, early voting sites on college campuses and free rides to the polls, Tarrant County is giving voters every opportunity to participate in the upcoming March 3 primaries,” Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley said in a county news release. “We are including as many public transit providers as possible within Tarrant County, from accessible services for the elderly and mobility-impaired to on-demand service in Arlington.”

Tarrant County residents can utilize the free ride partnership throughout the early voting period from Feb. 18-28 and on Election Day, March 3.

Transit services that have partnered with the county include the Trinity Metro bus service, Tarrant County Transportation Services, Northeast Transportation Services, ACCESS paratransit, Handitran and Via in Arlington.

Residents are advised to contact their preferred transit provider at least 48 hours ahead of time to schedule a free ride to a Tarrant County voting center.

Tarrant County residents are eligible to cast their vote at any voting center within the county on election day.

Voting centers include Southlake Town Hall, the Tarrant County Plaza Building, Southside Community Center, Eastern Hills High School, the Bradley Center and North Crowley High School, among others.
