Officials with the city of Roanoke are reminding area residents to limit outdoor watering during summer months.
According to city officials, the city of Roanoke irrigation ordinance limits outdoor watering for all customers using an irrigation system or sprinkler to a maximum of two days per week.
“Residential customers whose addresses end in odd numbers, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, are permitted to water lawns and landscapes only on Sundays and Thursdays,” officials said in a city news release. “Addresses ending in even numbers, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0, may water on Saturdays and Wednesdays only.”
In addition, nonresidential customers within city limits, including apartment complexes, businesses, parks and common areas, are permitted to water only on Tuesdays and Fridays, the release said.
