Scholarship season begins for Northwest ISD students

With the end of the 2019-20 school year fast approaching, Northwest ISD seniors can begin the scholarship application process with a number of organizations.

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation offers graduating seniors an opportunity to apply for a number of scholarships. Eligible students include all full-time NISD seniors who have been enrolled since the first day of the 2019-20 school year.

NISD Education Foundation funds are eligible to be used for the cost of education at any accredited institution, such as colleges, universities, academies within the armed forces and trade schools.

The 2020 NISD Education Foundation scholarship application can be found at www.nisdtx.org/nef. The application will be available through March 4.

Since its inception, the NISD Education Foundation has granted more than $500,000 in scholarships and has plans to award more than $50,000 in scholarships in 2020.

Additionally, local school PTAs and other organizations are currently accepting scholarship applications from graduating seniors.

Each scholarship has its own set of criteria for qualification, as well as additional guidelines and deadlines for applications. PTA scholarships are awarded to seniors who attended the organization’s associated school.
