Chitos Mexican Restaurant opens at new location in Frisco
Chitos Authentic Mexican Restaurant has reopened in Frisco at a new location.
Located next to the Frisco Fresh Market, Chitos’ new location serves tacos, burritos, enchiladas, soups and salads, tamales and other Mexican cuisine. The Frisco restaurant closed in June 2024.
According to the Chitos website, online ordering is temporarily unavailable while the business reopens.
9 Ounce and Somm serves food, wine, craft cocktails in Fort Worth
9 Ounce and Somm opened in north Fort Worth at the end of September.
Owner Ana Stull first envisioned the wine bar concept during the COVID-19 pandemic to honor her mother, who was raised in the Basque Country in northern Spain, according to previous reporting.
Dishes include calamari with salsa brava and garlic aioli; duck wings with a sweet apricot chili glaze; sumac-crusted lamb chops; pan-seared chicken with cannellini beans and Spanish olives; and gambas al ajillo, Spanish-marinated shrimp cooked in olive oil, arbol chili, garlic and fresh herbs.
An olive oil cake, chocolate mousse cake and crema catalana, a traditional Spanish dessert of milk custard with a burnt-sugar crust, are on the dessert menu.
Ono Hawaiian BBQ now serving kalua pork, more in McKinney
Ono Hawaiian BBQ is now open in McKinney.
The restaurant serves Hawaiian barbecue chicken, chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, kalua pork and more, according to a news release. Ono Hawaiian BBQ also serves a variety of appetizers and sides, including crab rangoons and macaroni salad.
Cork & Growler announces soft opening in Prosper
Cork & Growler will soft open in Prosper on Oct. 9, the business announced on social media.
The bar will offer cocktails, wine and craft beer, and its food menu will feature wood-fired pizza.
Cork & Growler originally opened in Frisco in 2017. In late 2024, the business announced it would be opening a location in Prosper, then closed its original Frisco location shortly after.
“The lease was ending and the rent was increasing exponentially to the point that we decided it wasn't a good business decision to sign a new lease and keep that location open any longer,” owner Carmelle Martinez said in an email at the time.
Nandi's now offers Indian flavors in Denton
Nandi's has opened in Denton, offering an array of Indian cuisine.
Nandi's opened in September at the intersection of West Prairie Street and South Elm Street. The restaurant offers mixed rice dishes such as biryani and mandi, as well as food cooked in a tandoor oven. The flatbread dish rumali roti is available, as well as curries and chaat, a type of street food snack. The restaurant also offers a breakfast buffet.
Pax and Beneficia now offers artisanal coffee at second Plano location
Pax & Beneficia celebrated the grand opening of its second Plano location in September.
Pax & Beneficia offers a variety of coffee options like its Zahr, which is made with orange blossom and cardamom syrup, and its Flash Brew, similar to a cold brew coffee. The Turkish-inspired business also offers coffee served in a cezve.
Its first location opened in Las Colinas in 2019, per previous reporting. Other locations are in Grapevine, Fort Worth at Kroger Alliance and near downtown Plano. The north Plano location is its ninth location in the DFW area.
