The second of many projects planned by JPS Health Network, a parking garage in Fort Worth, earned approval from the Tarrant County Commissioners Court.
Commissioners approved a contract at their Aug. 30 meeting between the Tarrant County Hospital District, which operates as JPS Health Network, and Beck | Potere Joint Venture. The $3.2 million contract covers preconstruction and design services. The 2,800-car parking garage will be located at the main hospital campus at the intersection of South Main Street and West Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth.
The design document is due Jan. 29, 2023, and the construction document deadline is May 29, 2023. The estimated completion date for the garage is Feb. 28, 2025.
The parking garage is being funded as part of the $800 million bond program for the hospital district that was approved by Tarrant County voters in 2018. JPS Health Network plans to invest another $400 million from its operations for a combined $1.2 billion modernization and expansion plan.
