Keller begins $3.5 million sidewalk repair project near Davis Boulevard

The city of Keller’s $3.5 million sidewalk repairs began on Feb. 22 around Davis Boulevard.

According to the city’s Feb. 18 newsletter, the sidewalk repairs are starting in the eastern portion of Hidden Lakes near Davis Boulevard. In September, the Keller City Council approved spending $3.5 million to fix sidewalks across the city as part of the fiscal year 2021-22 budget.

All property owners expected to be affected by the work have received letters from the city and a follow-up door hanger from the first set of work's contractor, Precision Concrete Cutting, the newsletter states.

Things such as landscaping and irrigation lines on private property near the work could be affected during the repairs, according to the newsletter. However, any disturbances will be fixed.

“Contractors are required to restore those elements to their pre-project conditions, and city staff will work with residents to ensure that work is completed,” city officials wrote in the newsletter.

Because of the project’s size and scope, work on the sidewalk repairs will be done in stages with a variety of contractors, which means residents can expect to see different contractors working on certain parts of the project, according to the newsletter.

For example, the stages could include surveying, sidewalk grinding, saw cutting, subsurface injecting, or concrete forming and pouring, the newsletter states.
