Katy ISD announced Sept. 1 it will host a COVID-19 rapid testing site for the district's staff of more than 11,000.
In partnership with RediMD and The University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston, the site is open to district staff only from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to a release from the district.
“We want our Katy ISD employees to have a quick and convenient location where they can get tested, whether they have been exposed to a positive case or believe to have had close contact with someone experiencing symptoms,” said Lance Nauman, KISD risk management department director. “The testing site is located within the district, with a 48-hour turnaround time for results.”
The testing service is free of charge, and no appointment is necessary, according to the release. Testing takes place on a first-come, first served basis, and the testing center is located at the Agricultural Sciences Center at 5825 Katy Hockley Cut-Off Road, Katy.
