A traffic light is coming to FM 359 following an agreement between Fort Bend County and the Texas Department of Transportation.

At an Oct. 22 meeting, Fort Bend County commissioners approved an agreement with TxDOT to add a stoplight at the intersection of FM 359 and Fulshear-Gaston Road.
Fort Bend County is responsible for securing contractors for design and construction services, although TxDOT must approve the design, according to agenda documents.
The cost
Design and construction for the project is expected to cost $399,762, with Fort Bend County covering $383,000 and TxDOT covering $16,762, according to agenda documents.
Going forward
Construction must begin no later than 12 months after the agreement execution and must be completed within three years after construction begins, according to agenda documents.
