Project: The ordinance comes as a nearby school requires vehicles to turn right out of the parking lot, resulting in unsafe U-turns further up the street.
Update: At a March 23 meeting, Katy City Council approved an ordinance prohibiting U-turns along Morton Road between Elder Road and Patna Drive.

2. Harris Street reconstruction
Project: The project aims to improve Harris Street from FM 1093 to Fifth Street.
Update: Fulshear officials canceled the contractor due to performance deficiencies and plans to rebid at an April 21 meeting.

3. Precinct 4 crosswalk improvements
Project: The project included repainting crosswalks, curbs and stop sign road markings in 12 “high-traffic” school zones, with four located in the Katy area.
Update: Harris County Precinct 4 completed the projects over spring break.
