Trammell Crow Company and joint venture partner, Principal Real Estate Investors, announced May 8 that ConocoPhillips has signed to occupy 850,000 square feet of office space in the Energy Corridor near Eldridge and Dairy Ashford, according to a release. The employees are currently located in buildings scattered west of the new location.
The company will relocate about 2,100 employees from its Lower 48 Business Unit, which focuses on exploration and production operations throughout the lower 48 states, to Energy Center Three, a 550,000 square foot office tower, and will lease an additional 300,000 square feet in Energy Center Four, which will total 600,000 square feet of office space. Center Three is currently under construction with a completion date of fall 2015, and Center Four is slated to begin construction later this year.
Although a spokesperson with ConocoPhillips said the move is less about job generation than it is to join its workforce.
"The Energy Corridor is where our main campus is and where our employees are," said Daren Beaudo, director of External Communications. "We saw it as a way to consolidate our teams and saw and opportunity to secure space in a new, modern and sate-of-the-art complex."
